Week of September 29th

This week’s show spun off of my social media usage. I was reading my Google+ feed (you can find this show on Google+ if you’ve switched over. If you want to follow my personal brand of lifestyle, my personal profile can be found at gplus.to/achawleyisdead), and I caught a post from my editor over at Little Village about Enya. The song he posted was really pretty and very smooth. It reminded me of the good times that I always have while listening to the majesty that is Pure Moods.

That was when this week’s show hit me: do a new version of Pure Moods. So, I did some research on New Age music. It was at this point that I realized that I don’t have too much of that. Rather than focusing on that sound, I wanted to take the idea of relaxation. I aimed to make a very relaxed, smooth show. I think that I did that by mixing a number of different sounds together and just grooving. I liked how this show actually came out in the end although it wasn’t nearly New Age-y enough.

Tom Ze - Barquinho Heroi f/ Monica Salmaso - Estudanto A Bossa

Saint Etienne - Side Streets - Tales From Turnpike House

The Books - Tokyo - The Lemon of Pink

Nicola Conte - Il Chercio Rosso - Jet Sounds (which I erroneously announced as Il Chercio Fuoco, which is a portmanteau of two separate songs)

This coming week will signal the return of my apprentice Sydney. She’ll be spitting the auditory heat then. Until that time comes again, I’m out.
