Week of October 20th

This is the long-delayed Triple Play. I had a lot of ideas for this third installment, but it ended up being about lo-fi recordings. By this, I meant music recorded in basements, bedrooms or on tape decks. Everything sounded particularly poor quality and was made on substandard equipment. In short, the show was totally awesome. This playlist will be listed like regular Triple Play lists with artist then a colon then the songs from them with albums in parentheses.

Vivian Girls:

Wild Eyes (S/T), Can’t Get Over You (Everything Goes Wrong) & Never See Me Again (S/T)

Black Lips:

Crazy Girl (S/T), Feeling Gay (Let It Bloom) & Notown Blues (We Did Not Know The Forest Spirit Made The Flowers Grow)

The Mummies:

That Girl (Death By Unga Bunga!), Stronger Than Dirt (Never Been Caught) & (Doin’) The Kirk (Death By Unga Bunga!)

Beat Happening:

Our Secret (S/T), Drive Car Girl (Jamboree) & What’s Important (S/T)

Half Japanese:

Pour Some Sugar On It, Day and Night & No Beatlemania, all on Greatest Hits

The Fall:

Before The Moon Falls (Dragnet), Repetition (Early Singles) & Industrial Estate (Live At The Witch Trials)

Tyvek:

Air Conditioner (Fast Metabolism), Honda (Fast Metabolism) & Nothing Fits (Nothing Fits)

Real Estate:

Easy (Days), It’s Real (Days) & Suburban Beverage (S/T)

The Chills:

I Love My Leather Jacket, Rolling Moon & Kaleidoscope World, all on Kaleidoscope World

Gary Wilson:

In The Midnight Hour (Forgotten Lovers), Cindy (You Think You Really Know Me) & Chromium Bitch (You Think You Really Know Me)

Edan:

Humble Magnificent, Emcees Smoke Crack & You Suck (f/ Father Time), all on Primitive Plus

Freezepop:

Duct Tape My Heart (Fancy Ultra-Fresh), Science Genius Girl (Forever) & Tonight (Fancy Ultra-Fresh)

Two ending notes: S/T means self-titled and Freezepop is starting the upcoming show. How? You’ll have to find out when you listen.
