Week of November 17th

This show is entitled “This Year’s Hits Today!” Why? Seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway, this show was meant more as an exploration of my own archive of new music than anything else. I’ve piled up a lot of records over these past eleven months+, and I wanted to see how many of them were actually any good. Turns up that more of them are really, really good in fact. They are all definitely different, but they are also quite good. This also isn’t meant to be a comprehensive list. There are other tracks from this year that I just featured in other weeks, and I just wanted to keep that kind of repetition down.

mr. oizo - datsun - stade 2

craft spells - from the morning heat - idle labor

pink skull - humar hair disco - psychic warfare

neon indian - polish girl - era extrana

promwolf - robotess - at last, robotess

processory - farewell, welfare - change is gradual

the ladybug transistor - clutching stems - clutching stems

dirty beaches - sweet 17 - badlands

com truise - brokendate - galactic melt

gauntlet hair - showing - gauntlet hair

true widow - wither - as high as the highest heavens and from the center to the circumference of the earth

young prisms - feel fine - friends for now

crystal stilts - shake the shackles - in love with oblivion

girls names - kiss goodbye - dead to me

wild nothing - golden haze - golden haze

veronica falls - misery - veronica falls

beach fossils - calyer - what a pleasure

twin sister - eastern green - in heaven

memoryhouse - track 8 - the years ep (what is the name of this track? it’s not on the notes)

super sounds namba - yes indeed - life stories

wye oak - we were wealth - civilian

sleep over - casual diamond - forever

kids on a crime spree - impasto - we love you so bad

eternal summers - pure affection - prisoner ep

still corners - in the trees - creatures of an hour

echo lake - in dreams - young silence

wild beasts - loop the loop - smother
