Looking at that Strange Boys song again reminds me that if anyone lives near Iowa City (let’s say around the upper midwest), there’s going to be a bitchin’ garage rock festival on Fourth of July weekend called Firecracker 500. They will be playing there with 20 other bands over three nights. The local punk/garage scene here is really good. I’ve seen a lot of the bands. Boxknifes, Slut River, Supersonic Piss, HOTT, and Solid Attitude in particular all rip. If you need a place to crash, I’ve got a futon that’s more than open.
